Rules[edit | edit source]

  • Never adopt minimal pairs with v and w, s and z, m and n (word-final).
  • If possible, avoid minimal pairs with l and rb and pf and pc and jc and xh and r.
  • Two or three syllables is preferred.
  • Avoid affixed words.
  • When there is a tie, use the following order of priority: Asian languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese), Arabic supported by Persian/Swahili, Hindi supported by Telugu/Indonesian/European, European supported by Indonesian/Filipino/Turkish, Persian and Turkish.
  • When there is no consensus, find synonyms. If there is still no consensus, follow this order of priority: Mandarin, Arabic, Swahili, Hindi.
  • Select the least common Globasa consonants and vowels. With consonants, choose m over nl over rh over kg over kd over tp over b, and s over z. With vowels, choose e over ai over eu over o, and o over any vowel except u.
  • If there needs to be a final vowel, for Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese words, add -o for two-syllable words and -u for three-syllable words. For European, Hindi and Persian words, add -o for Spanish words, otherwise -e. For Arabic words, add -u.
  • If a word ends in a consonant, put the stress on the last vowel. If a word ends in a vowel, put the stress on the second-to-last vowel.
  • Phonotactics:
    • The syllable structure is (onset)nucleus(coda) and (C)(C)V(C).
